Editor’s letter

Dear reader,

MLVC began as a private collection. Not a glossy one: photographs tucked into the corners of albums, ticket stubs kept long after the shows, and notes in the margins that only make sense to the person who wrote them.

This is where I keep it all now. Every record and every song on its own page, the tours as they were lived, and the pieces I have collected along the way, laid out the way I have always wanted to read about her work.

This autumn the story is Confessions II, and the dance floor it takes us back to. I hope you find something here you love as much as I do.

Confessions II

Back on the dance floor, and back where it began: the record that crosses the threshold.

The record is a door. The dance floor is the room behind it.
