“Human Nature” is the album’s spine: a cool, defiant reply to everyone who condemned her for Erotica and Sex.
The Song
Written with Dave Hall and others, it responds directly to the backlash of 1992 and 1993. Critics have called it an unintentional sequel to “Express Yourself”.
The Video
Jean-Baptiste Mondino filmed Madonna in black latex, posed with dancers in a playful take on bondage imagery.
On Stage
It was performed on the Sticky & Sweet Tour in 2008 and 2009.
