Written by Björk, “Bedtime Story” is the album’s strangest and most forward-looking track — and gave the record its name.
The Song
Björk wrote the original demo, “Let’s Get Unconscious”, as a favour to Marius de Vries, and never met Madonna. Nellee Hooper produced the track, a trance-like electronic song about escaping language and logic.
The Video
Mark Romanek’s surreal video reportedly cost $5 million. It is now part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
