Released in November 2005 exclusively to Official Madonna Fan Club members, Superpop is a fascinating side-door into the Confessions on a Dance Floor era. Written and produced with Mirwais Ahmadzaï, the track carries traces of earlier experimental demos before settling into a bright, jittery pop-disco shape. Its lyrics turn self-invention into a roll call of icons and possibilities, with Madonna imagining herself through figures of art, glamour, politics and fame. It is playful, odd and unmistakably fan-facing: a private glitter parcel from the archive.

As a bonus track, Superpop does not need to carry the conceptual weight of the main album, and that is part of its charm.
